Zongolica is a small town nestled down in an extreme mountainous valley. It is in one of the most southern coffee regions of the state of Veracruz, and one of the most premier coffee producing areas in the entire country of Mexico. The region is known for its very steep mountainsides that loom above beautiful deep canyons throughout the region, making it a very fertile land for cultivating coffee … but not an easy harvesting surface for the farmers and their workers. The farms on these steep hillsides Don Martin Tequihuatle and his family have been farming coffee in this area for more than three generations. His family are proud descendants of the Nahuatl (commonly known as Aztecs) indigenous tribe, and admirably still retain use of their native language and traditions. We are so blessed to support Martin, his wife Nay, and the rest of his precious family.
